USA & Canada - Music Sabbatical - Aug - Nov 2017
Travelled all over the USA to musical cities, making connections, jamming in every city.  New Orleans, Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Greenville, Clarksdale, Memphis, Nashville, St Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston & New York.  Went to find a greater meaning for the styles of music that I like; Blues, Funk, Groove, Soul, Folk, Swing.
​To play with people and see great music from many different places, from large famous bands and festivals, to playing in the smallest grittiest real bars in the backstreets. Checking also famous recording studios and operating studios, and recording some music along the way. To get a greater understanding of why musicians play what they play and where the history comes from, and what the realities of playing in those places is like today, for real musicians in the scene.

Drove over 8,000+ miles (12,800+ klms) solo, visiting musicians I know, and making many new musician friends, and having a basic journey planned, but flexible enough to change directions or follow leads in all of those places.
